Alexandra Lozano, MD

Family Medicine Physician

Dr. Alexandra Lozano San Miguel is a professional with dual specialization in Family Medicine and Palliative Care. She is board-certified in Family Medicine with a medical degree from the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine, in Caguas, Puerto Rico. She completed her specialization in family medicine at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, where she was Chief Resident, and subsequently went on to complete a medical subspecialty in Palliative Care and Hospice at Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Her specific interest lies in the comprehensive care of the family and the human being, including physical, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects. As a family and palliative care physician, her commitment is to build lasting relationships with patients.

Dr. Lozano is the first palliative care physician to offer this service to pediatric patients in Puerto Rico’s only tertiary pediatric hospital. She enjoys teaching and lecturing on physician wellness, palliative care, and communication skills. Outside of work, she likes to travel, go to the beach, and spend time with her beloved canine friend, Aly.
