Dr. Rodríguez is board certified in emergency medicine and pediatric emergency medicine with a focused practice designation in advanced emergency medicine ultrasonography. He earned his medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed his residency training at the UPR Hospital in Carolina, where he served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship training in pediatric emergency medicine at the NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, followed by an advanced EM ultrasound fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center/Kings County Hospital Center, both in Brooklyn, NY. Through these fellowships, he obtained expertise in the management of acute pediatric presentations and the incorporation of point-of-care ultrasonography to manage and diagnose a wide variety of pathologies seen in the ER.
He has served for the past two years as the board director of the American College of Emergency Physicians at the P.R. chapter. He also served as EM Chapter President and EM Senator for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Puerto Rico. He currently works as the Pediatric EM Director and attending emergency physician at St. Luke’s Medical Center/Ponce Health Sciences University Emergency Medicine residency program in Ponce, PR. Dr. Rodriguez is also an avid speaker, having performed multiple lectures on Emergency Medicine, Pediatric EM, and EM Ultrasound topics in several states and PR.
